The Prigorodnoye Production Complex of the Sakhalin-2 Project is located on the shore of Aniva Bay. It includes Russia's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, oil export terminal (OET) and Prigorodnoye port.
The launch ceremony of the LNG plant took place in February 2009. The ceremony was opened by Russian Ex-President Dmitry Medvedev. Among the guests of honor at the ceremony were Taro Aso, Prime Minister of Japan, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, Maria van der Hoeven, Minister of Economy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and other high-ranking government officials. The LNG complex adheres to high environmental protocols.
