Cape Evstafiya

The cape was named by the legendary Russian navigator Ivan Kruzenshtern in 1805 in honor of the battleship "Eustathius", which destroyed in battle the lead Turkish ship "Real Mustafa.

On the way, you can stop and admire the blue lakes of the Novikovo coal mine, called "Turquoise Lakes" by Sakhalin residents. Because of the germanium ore, which was mined here from 1966 to 1999, the water has acquired an unusual turquoise color.
