Cape Giant

The rocky arches of Cape Velikan are one of the pearls of Sakhalin and its calling card. This natural monument is located on the southern coast of the Sea of Okhotsk.

Fanciful rocks, in the outlines of which some see a lion emerging from the sea, some see a mysterious castle, and some see the head of a giant, dozing at the water's edge, are towering along the coast from Cape Ptichy to Cape Giant.

There are a lot of bird colonies near the shore. You can often see seals on the beaches of Cape Velikan. Many people consider Cape Velikan to be a place of power.
