The Sakhalin Regional Art Museum

The Sakhalin Regional Art Museum was founded in 1983.

On March 25, 1989, the first permanent exhibition opened in the building of the former Japanese bank Hokkaido Takushoku, which was built in the early 1930s and reconstructed and given to the museum in the 1980s. This building is a historical and architectural monument.

On the first floor of the museum, temporary vernissages are held, on the second, permanent exhibitions are available for viewing: "Russian art of the 19th - early 20th centuries", "Decorative and applied art of Japan", "Contemporary art of Korea".
